Easdale is an island of slate which was extensively quarried for about three centuries until the 1950’s. There are about fifty permanent residents and a number of holiday homes, one for sale at present - tempting! It is a venue for stone skimming championships with flat, smoothed slate pebbles ideal for use in the still water of the flooded quarries.
